Tax Intern - Summer 2027

About the role

Bennett Thrasher is seeking Tax internship candidates for a Summer 2027 internship. This role offers opportunities to experience various areas of Tax and gain responsibilities similar to those of a first-year staff member.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of accounting and auditing standards/theory
• Accurately and efficiently prepare tax returns and utilize feedback to prevent from repeating errors
• Prepare income tax projections and estimate calculations for clients
• Conduct research, analysis, development and summarization of financial information
• Analyze accounting records, financial statements or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
• Maintain and organize client files in accordance with firm standards
• Work effectively with all levels of firm leadership to provide quality service to clients
• Receive mentoring through our Buddy program

Qualifications

• Working towards undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting with a GPA of 3.2 or higher (junior, senior, or masters student)
• Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles is required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence
• Must be able to work 40 hours a week
