Responsibilities
- Support KPMG’s Global Mobility Services tax professionals with tax compliance and advisory services for multinational companies and their mobile employees (international assignees or domestic business travelers).
- Collaborate with tax and HR professionals within multinational companies to manage the tax implications of their global workforce.
- Prepare client correspondence and calculations on international assignment matters, including policy issues, cost projections, tax settlements, and tax reconciliations.
- Analyze and track expatriate payroll, compensation, benefits, global mobility, and other assignment-related issues.
- Prepare reports, analyze data, and track global mobility tax compliance status and other assignment-related projects.
- Build capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more.
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree.
- Upon completion of this internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or meeting CPA eligibility requirements.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Coursework or concentration in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Economics, Human Resources, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred; coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics is also preferred.
- Knowledge of expatriate services, global mobility, and tax is a plus.
- Foreign language skills preferred.
- Strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills. Demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes in a dynamic environment.
- Professional demeanor and collaborative leadership approach.
- Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, and ability to learn and navigate technologies such as AI, Alteryx, Power BI, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), and emerging technologies to enhance tax processes.
- Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; feedback-oriented and resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
- Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to work locations using a personal vehicle or public transportation.
- Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, sometimes with short notice.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT, or any other employment-based visa).
