Tax Expert - Retail
About the role
As a TurboTax Retail Expert, you will serve as a trusted advisor in a retail or flagship location, providing in-person tax assistance and software support to customers. Your responsibilities include delivering full-service tax return preparation, offering personalized tax advice, uncovering deductions, and helping clients optimize refunds. You will act as a community ambassador, engaging prospects, nurturing leads, and representing TurboTax locally through marketing efforts, educational content, and community events. Building long-term relationships and fostering customer loyalty are key goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on tax preparation and advice for diverse tax situations.
- Create exceptional customer experiences, addressing inquiries and overcoming tax challenges.
- Build and maintain community relationships, attract new clients, and promote tax education.
- Participate in local marketing initiatives, content creation, and community engagement.
- Represent the brand professionally, wear company attire, and work in a fast-paced retail setting.
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted EA, CPA, or attorney license with at least 3 years of tax preparation experience.
- Proficiency in filing federal and state individual tax returns using professional software.
- Knowledge of tax law, Circular 230, and tax planning strategies.
Skills
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working onsite, in a retail environment, and engaging with the community.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) and entrepreneurial mindset are a plus.
