Tax Director, Real Estate

We are seeking an experienced Tax Director to help lead our Real Estate Tax practice in Charleston, SC. Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the tax compliance process for real estate partnerships, including the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns, estimates, and extensions.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns and related forms, including Form 1065 and K-1s.
- Manage financial performance of engagements, including billing and budget for assigned projects.
- Lead and manage client engagements from start to finish, ensuring completion within defined budget and timeline.
- Provide continuous and proactive communication with clients, striving to exceed expectations.
- Identify opportunities to improve tax operations and offer thoughtful solutions and enhancements to processes.
- Coordinate with team members on all phases of a tax engagement.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback, training, and mentoring to leveraged team members based on review of work.
- Own the financial performance of engagements, including billing and budget for assigned projects.
- Contribute to practice development efforts by garnering referrals and engaging with the Charleston community to represent WebsterRogers and explore market growth opportunities.
- Stay up to date with tax law changes and accounting-related developments and best practices.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Accounting.
- CPA required.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in public accounting reviewing both individual and business taxation.
- 3+ years of experience in tax management, real estate, partnerships, and Form 1065.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience managing multiple client engagements and teams.
