Tax Director - Private Client Services (PCS)

About the role

EisnerAmper is seeking a Tax Director to join the Private Client Services (PCS) practice. This client-facing position is responsible for providing tax compliance, consulting services, and analyses of financial, gift, estate, and income tax issues for high net-worth individuals and their related businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Review and prepare federal and multi-state individual and trust tax returns for high net-worth individuals and families
  • Research and critically analyze tax technical issues
  • Advise and provide guidance on tax planning and compliance matters
  • Delegate workflow to staff and see work products to their completion
  • Regularly interact with clients and timely respond to their requests/questions
  • Correspond and communicate with federal and state taxing authorities regarding nonresident tax withholding, client penalty notices, and other items
  • Address ad-hoc needs of clients, including analyses of potential tax implications of transactions, life events, etc.

Requirements

  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Bachelor’s degree in taxation and/or accounting
  • 12+ years of experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns, researching tax technical topics, and working on tax planning goals
  • Prior individual and trust tax preparation experience with high net-worth clients and family offices, including the preparation of multi-state tax returns
  • Ability to pursue self-development and collaborate within a team dynamic
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
  • Thorough knowledge of CCH ProSystem FX and/or CCH Axcess, Excel, and Word
  • Professional communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely (oral and written)

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Taxation or relevant field preferred
