About the role
The National Tax Office of CBIZ is seeking a Subject Matter Expert to join its Partnership/LLC tax practice. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in partnership and LLC taxation and will play a key role in shaping internal policies and responding to client consultations.
Responsibilities
- Provide tax consultation to tax professionals in practice offices on a variety of client tax matters.
- Lead the Partnership/LLC allocation modeling practice, including hands-on involvement and management of others.
- Contribute to shaping and maintaining national policies and standards within the Partnership/LLC tax practice.
- Identify and implement tax planning initiatives and provide timely insight on emerging technical matters.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for complex questions involving partnership pass-through taxation, such as mergers/acquisitions, equity-based compensation, profit/loss allocations, and various tax planning scenarios.
- Contribute to thought leadership programs, training initiatives, and risk management efforts.
- Travel to support national programs and meetings across the country.
- Expand the NTO billable practice in partnership/LLC tax, including hiring additional subject matter experts.
- Offer expertise across domestic federal tax issues, including complex or unusual inquiries.
Requirements
- 8+ years of tax partnership experience with a top-tier law firm or accounting firm, or similar experience in academia.
- Distinguished career in partnership pass-through taxation.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- CPA, Masters in Taxation, or JD/LLM.
- Strong proficiency with tax research subscription services including Bloomberg Tax, Thomson Reuters Checkpoint, CCH AnswerConnect, and Tax Analysts.
- Strong desire to be a part of and contribute to the growth of a high-performing client-focused team.
- A consulting mindset and approach to client interaction and expectations.
- Experience leading other professionals and motivating, inspiring, and developing junior team members.
- Proven leader in delivering high-quality work that exceeds client expectations.
