EisnerAmper is seeking a Tax Director for our Financial Services State & Local Tax team. In this role, you will be involved in new business opportunities, servicing existing clients in compliance and consulting, thought leadership, technology initiatives, and developing and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

  • Build a Financial Services State and Local Tax group
  • Provide multistate consulting and compliance services, including:
    • Technical review of partnership and corporate state and local tax returns, focusing on multistate tax issues such as allocation, apportionment, modifications, nexus, unitary filings, and flow-through taxation
    • Address residency issues
    • Conduct state tax consulting, including nexus and taxability studies
    • Provide audit defense
    • Perform research and writing
    • Conduct due diligence
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other in-house tax professionals and clients
  • Review and consult on pass-through entity issues, including:
    • Estimated payment, withholding, and composite tax calculations
    • Investor packages including state K-1s, grids, and related filings
  • Research and analyze state tax legislation and its impact on clients
  • Assist with various tax consulting projects, including research and writing related to tax planning, restructuring, and accounting for income taxes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent field
  • CPA, EA, or JD
  • 10+ years of experience in state taxation
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Financial Services and Asset Wealth Management client experience within State and Local Tax (SALT)
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or equivalent field
  • State income tax experience
  • Experience with state tax planning, tax research, and tax analysis
  • Experience with tiered flow-through entities and investment vehicles
