About the role
This role is hybrid, based in Woburn or Boston, MA. The Tax Director will lead and manage multiple tax engagements to deliver quality income tax services for our diverse client base. This individual will advise clients on the tax implications of their business objectives, evaluate and select actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance, identify different methods of complying with tax regulations, and act as the primary client contact for complex tax issues. The Tax Director should be comfortable with tax compliance on corporate, partnership, individual, and trust returns. Additionally, this individual will actively participate in marketing, networking, and business development.
Responsibilities
- Build new and existing client relationships and demonstrate basic knowledge of client’s businesses.
- Work closely with Tax Partners to satisfy client needs with planning compliance.
- Understand and manage firm risk on tax services performed.
- Prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
- Prepare research memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, and other documents.
- Train and supervise staff, reviewing and evaluating their work.
- Manage multiple clients, budgets, and production goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Master’s in Taxation preferred.
- A CPA, JD, or CFP or other related experience or certification relevant to an area of specialization required.
- 10+ years progressive experience in public accounting.
- Strong accounting and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Experience as a team leader: supervising and training teams to create an atmosphere of trust; seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation; and coaching staff, including providing timely, meaningful written and verbal feedback.

Pay
The compensation for this position ranges from $130,000–150,000. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location, as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills, and certifications.
