Tax Director

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Tax Director to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s tax compliance and planning services for our UHNW clients. This role includes leading a team of tax professionals, managing complex tax engagements, and providing strategic tax advisory services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tax planning and compliance, particularly with UHNW clients.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
• Partner with DBTA leadership on recruitment, training, and professional development of tax staff
• Manage the preparation and review of tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, corporations, private foundations, and international entities
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international tax regulations
• Develop and implement tax strategies that align with clients’ financial goals and mitigate tax liabilities
• Build and maintain strong relationships with UHNW clients, understanding their unique financial situations and objectives
• Provide expert advice on year-end planning, estate and gift tax planning, and captive insurance planning
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing tax-related concerns and questions
• Stay abreast of the latest tax laws and regulations, ensuring DBTA practices remain current and compliant
• Advise clients on the tax implications of various financial decisions, including investments, business transactions, and estate planning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field
• CPA required
• Master’s in Taxation or JD/LLM preferred
• 8+ years of tax experience, including leadership experience
• Proven experience working with ultra-high-net-worth clients
• Deep expertise in federal, state, and international tax
• Strong leadership and team development skills
• High-level client relationship management skills
• Experience with CCH (preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite

Pay

The salary range for this position is $175,000 – $200,000 annually
