Tax Director
About the role
CohnReznick is seeking a Director to join our Private Client Services team within our Los Angeles practice. This position is considered remote, allowing most job duties to be performed outside of a CohnReznick office location. However, the candidate may be required to be present at a CohnReznick office for client work, team meetings, or trainings.
Responsibilities
- Review complex gift, estate and fiduciary income tax returns
- Provide tax planning and consulting to high net worth clients for estate and individual income taxes
- Read & summarize estate planning documents, as well as provide guidance on both federal & state income and death tax treatment
- Research and consult on various estate, gift and trust related issues, such as trustee and beneficiary issues, tax impact of estate administration, and generation skipping tax issues
- Help generate opportunities within existing clients, as well as meet with and pursue new clients
- Prepare & present technical training to specialty group and core tax department
- Have responsibility for managing all aspects of client relationships
- Manage a team of professionals within the group to complete engagements from start to finish
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in public accounting industry
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Tax is a plus
- CPA or JD is required
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive tax experience with trusts and estates, as well as high net worth clients
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a public accounting firm
- Strong tax research skills
- Ability to lead, manage and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment
- Excellent communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills

Pay
The salary range for a Tax Director is $225,000 - $325,000. Salary determination will vary based on factors such as a candidate’s geographical location, qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies.
