Tax Department Intern (Finance)
About the role
The Worldwide Tax Department Intern will gain hands-on experience in international and domestic tax concepts, tax planning, M&A restructuring, and tax compliance. The intern will also participate in various long-term projects.
Responsibilities
- Research tax laws, rules, and regulations and analyze their application to specific situations at JAS.
- Support select projects by demonstrating creative thinking and individual initiative while working as a team member and building solid relationships with team members and other departments.
- Proactively seek guidance, clarification, and feedback as well as demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks while exercising professional skepticism.
Qualifications
- Current Junior or Senior in college with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Major in Accounting, Finance, International Business, Business Administration.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.
- Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.
- Able to work with all levels of employees successfully.
- Fluent in English, verbal and written.
- Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems effectively.
Environment
100% performed in a climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel will be (up to __%) required in support of the position’s responsibilities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
