About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sales Tax professional to provide additional support on a short-term compliance project. The project will focus on filing past-due state sales tax returns, with several states requiring filings going back multiple years.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file historical state sales tax returns through various state online tax portals.
• Aggregate, cleanse, and map large volumes of transactional data to support accurate return preparation.
• Review and reconcile sales tax data and supporting documentation.
• Utilize Excel extensively, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and other functions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience preparing and filing state sales tax returns.
• Experience working with multiple state sales tax portals.
• Very strong Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with large volumes of transactional data.
• Prior sales tax compliance experience strongly preferred.
