Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred.
- Master's degree in Taxation or Finance is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all corporate tax compliance, including direct and indirect taxes.
- Ensure timely preparation and filing of tax returns, GST/VAT returns, withholding taxes, and other statutory filings.
- Oversee tax accounting, provisions, reconciliations, and disclosures in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to improve tax efficiency while ensuring compliance.
- Manage tax audits, assessments, and correspondence with tax authorities.
- Review tax implications of business transactions, contracts, mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring activities.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, payroll, procurement, and business teams on tax-related matters.
- Identify tax risks and establish internal controls to mitigate compliance and financial exposure.
- Support statutory and internal audits by providing tax documentation and explanations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the taxation team to enhance technical expertise and performance.
- Drive automation and process improvements within the tax function.
