Tax & Audit Associate - Real Estate
About the role
We are currently seeking a full-time Real Estate Tax and Audit Associate to join our team in our Atlanta, GA office. This position will be on-site in our Atlanta office with a start date of January 2027.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Federal and state, primarily partnership and individual non-resident income tax returns
- Support senior team members to ensure compliance with tax deadlines
- Perform technical tax research on a variety of Federal and state tax topics
- Perform audit engagements with a concentration on real estate
- Prepare clear, concise workpapers and other communications
- Conduct technical accounting research on a variety of accounting topics
- Participate in staff trainings and stay up-to-date with new audit regulations and tax laws
- Maintain active communication with senior team members and clients in a professional and timely manner
- Manage priorities and provide timely status updates to the team regularly
Qualifications
- 0-1+ years of professional Federal and state income tax or external audit experience, including experience in public accounting
- Experience in preparing partnership and individual tax returns
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or Master's degree in Accounting/Taxation
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills in English
- Process-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- CPA license or working toward a similar certification preferred
- Experience in taxation or audits of real estate investments and related projects preferred
- ProSystem fx Engagement and CCH Axcess experience preferred
