About the role
CohnReznick is seeking a Tax Associate to join our Engagement Team in San Diego, CA. This position is part of our hybrid model, where professionals are expected to be in the office approximately 3 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Become familiar with current tax theories and laws and perform procedures in accordance with firm standards.
- Work on a variety of client deliverables including preparation of tax returns, including Individuals, Partnerships, and Corporate tax returns.
- Identify potential tax issues and prepare tax adjusting entries and tax trial balances based on audited or client provided trial balances.
- Research filing requirements and tax issues using internal revenue code, treasury regulations, and other relevant authorities/guidance.
- Manage daily client workflow and multiple client projects at any given time.
- Draft tax technical memorandums.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting
- Minimum GPA of 3.2 in both major and overall
- Leadership positions in extracurricular activities preferred
- Prior work or internship experience in accounting is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and sharp critical thinking
- Advanced skills in Excel and eagerness to learn new technologies
Qualifications
- Plan to complete 150 credit hours by September 2026 to be CPA licensed
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident
Benefits
The successful candidate will be offered a salary of $81,000 in San Diego, with additional components of the total rewards package including a discretionary performance bonus, generous paid time off, expanded parental benefits, and access to learning and development platforms.
