Tax Associate – Queens

Intuit is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic team as dedicated year‑round TurboTax Retail Experts in TurboTax Retail or Flagship locations across the United States. This role combines tax expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and community engagement to help customers navigate their tax needs while supporting Intuit’s mission of “Powering Prosperity Around the World.”

About the Role

You will work on‑site at a TurboTax Retail or Flagship location as part of a collaborative team of financial experts, serving in‑person customers who use Intuit TurboTax products. You will leverage your tax expertise to provide full‑service tax return preparation, tax advice, calculations, and software/product support, while building long‑term relationships and driving customer loyalty. This position is non‑exempt and requires onsite presence in the United States.

What You’ll Do

• Be a Proactive Community Ambassador – Represent TurboTax locally, engage new prospects, nurture leads, convert prospects into long‑term clients, and lead or participate in local marketing to make taxes accessible and approachable.
• Provide Tax Expertise – Deliver hands‑on tax advice and preparation for simple to complex situations (personal and business income, deductions optimization, amendments). Conduct discovery sessions and tax reviews to uncover deductions, minimize liabilities, maximize refunds, and offer future tax‑planning advice using government resources, professional tools, and team expertise.
• Deliver a Best‑in‑Class Customer Experience – Create an exceptional experience through professionalism and genuine interest in clients’ financial goals (e.g., retirement, college, weddings, vacations). Build long‑term trust, interact in‑person and via Intuit’s video communication tools, and address client inquiries while helping them overcome tax‑related challenges.

Key Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted EA, CPA, or attorney license with strong tax preparation experience; deep knowledge of tax law preferred
• Active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) as required by law
• Ability to obtain any required state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds
• Minimum 3 years of paid experience filing 30 or more federal and state individual 1040 returns per tax season using professional tax preparation software
• Familiarity with Circular 230
• Willingness to work onsite at a TurboTax retail or flagship location, Sunday through Saturday, for a minimum of 20 hours per week (hours may increase during peak demand)
• Interest in building a local and online social presence as a TurboTax Expert, creating tax‑related content in accordance with Intuit policies
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are a plus
• Experience in holistic tax advisory services beyond tax filing
• Willingness to wear a TurboTax uniform and work in a front‑facing retail environment

Pay

Base pay range (New York): $32.50 – $36.00 per hour. The position is eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits in accordance with Intuit’s applicable plans and programs.

Schedule

On‑site work at a TurboTax retail or flagship location, Sunday through Saturday, minimum 20 hours per week; hours may increase during periods of peak customer demand.
