Responsibilities

  • Assist multi-state companies with property tax issues including compliance, consulting, planning, and controversies
  • Assist clients with business tax planning transactions and mergers and acquisitions, including identifying and developing property tax issues and savings opportunities that arise from legal entity changes/transactions
  • Design specific plans to help businesses address their property tax matters
  • Research and draft property tax technical memoranda
  • Supervise the work of shared services team members and interns
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop and sustain excellent client relationships
  • Analyze, prepare, and review tax workpapers, returns, and extensions
  • Assist in reviewing notices of value and preparing recommendations for appeals
  • Build capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing or have obtained within the past 12 months a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation, mathematics, economics, real estate, information technology, data and analytics, engineering (financial, industrial, or systems), or an equivalent program from an accredited college or university
  • Preferred: Degrees and/or areas of study in Accounting or Finance and Taxation
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics preferred
  • Strong tax research skills
  • Strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills
  • Demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and collaborative leadership approach in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, and ability to learn and navigate technologies such as AI, Alteryx, Power BI, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), and apply emerging technologies to enhance tax processes and insights
  • Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; feedback-oriented and resourceful in delivering high-quality work
  • Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to commutable work locations using a personal vehicle or public transportation
  • Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, sometimes with short notice
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future (KPMG will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this opportunity)
