About the role
This position is considered hybrid, with team members expected to be in the office on average 3 days a week for in-person collaboration. The cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level.
Your team
- Engagement Team: Work closely with Interns, Associates, Senior Associates, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners.
- Industries: Serve clients across Consumer & Industrial, Financial Sponsors & Financial Services, Life Sciences & Healthcare, Public Sector, Real Estate, Renewable Energy, Technology & Media, and Private Client Services.
- Office: Collaborative spaces and amenities at the CohnReznick office.
- Performance Coach: Meets with you to establish goals, provide feedback, and support career growth.
- CR Friend: A familiar face to help you integrate into the firm.
Responsibilities
- Prepare tax returns, including Individuals, Partnerships, and Corporate tax returns.
- Identify potential tax issues and prepare tax adjusting entries and tax trial balances based on audited or client-provided trial balances.
- Research filing requirements and tax issues using the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury regulations, and other relevant authorities.
- Manage daily client workflow and multiple client projects simultaneously.
- Draft tax technical memorandums.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting.
- Plan to complete 150 credit hours by September 2027 to be CPA licensed.
- Minimum GPA of 3.2 in both your major and overall.
- Leadership positions in extracurricular activities are preferred.
- Prior work or internship experience (accounting experience is a plus).
- Excellent communication skills and sharp critical thinking.
- Comfortable navigating fast-paced environments and embracing change.
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; eager to learn new technologies.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Pay
In Maryland, the salary for a Tax Associate is $81,000. Salary is one component of the CohnReznick total rewards package.
