Tax Associate

About the role

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Tax Associate with at least four years of experience to join our dynamic team. This position is available in multiple offices, including Austin, Kansas City, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Washington, D.C., and our virtual office, The Link.

Responsibilities

• Experience in a wide range of complex federal transactional tax matters with both non-profit and for-profit clients, including business entity formations, mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations.
• Advising clients on state and local tax matters, including income, franchise, sales, and use tax.
• Collaborating with colleagues to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of strategies to meet client needs.

Requirements

• An active bar license in the state corresponding with the office to which you are applying, or commitment to obtaining one as soon as possible.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• At least four years of relevant experience in tax law.
• Knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
• Experience working with non-profit and for-profit clients.

• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

The salary range for this position varies based on location:

• New York, Vermont, Washington, D.C.: $235,000 - $318,000
• California, Colorado, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington: $230,000 – $315,000
• Illinois: $215,000 - $315,000
• Minnesotta: $215,000 - $285,000

Salaries in all other markets will vary depending on market data.
