Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance: Support the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns, extensions, estimated tax payments, and related compliance activities.
- Tax Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial data to support tax reporting, tax provisions, book-to-tax adjustments, fixed asset accounting, and other tax-related analyses.
- Tax Analysis: Assist with tax compliance, tax reporting, and other direct tax initiatives while supporting ongoing regulatory requirements.
- Audit & Tax Support: Assist with tax audits, partnership tax reporting, documentation requests, and coordination with external advisors.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with accounting, finance, and external tax advisors to support tax planning, reporting, and process improvements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes, improve reporting efficiency, and enhance the accuracy of tax data and documentation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Certification: CPA or progress toward CPA certification is required.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with real estate taxation, partnership taxation, REIT taxation, or investment management tax is required.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills are required, and experience with tax preparation software, financial systems, and accounting platforms is preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are required.
