Responsibilities
- Prepare and file transaction tax returns, including sales and use, motor fuel, excise, and other indirect tax filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Analyze financial and operational data to support tax reporting requirements, identify potential issues, and recommend process improvements.
- Research tax laws, regulations, and technical matters to support compliance activities and identify potential tax savings opportunities.
- Prepare account reconciliations, maintain supporting documentation, and ensure the completeness and accuracy of tax-related records.
- Respond to tax notices and information requests and assist with internal and external audit activities.
- Develop and provide reports, analyses, and supporting data to business partners and stakeholders.
- Collaborate across departments to resolve issues, improve compliance processes, and support changing business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in transaction tax, sales and use tax, indirect tax compliance, or related accounting/tax functions.
- Knowledge of transaction tax regulations, compliance requirements, and accounting principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate data effectively.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
