About the role
The Tax Analyst works closely with Vermont Department of Taxes staff, taxpayers, and many other state agencies and towns, providing support through phone, email, and in-person interactions, as well as reviewing returns for accuracy, correcting mistakes, or requesting additional information.
Responsibilities
- Supports Vermont Department of Taxes staff, taxpayers, and other state agencies and towns through phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Reviews returns for accuracy, corrects mistakes, or requests additional information.
Requirements
- Extension tax knowledge.
- Experience in business or fiscal duties.
- Knowledge of local government.
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex topics to diverse audiences.
- A desire to continue to learn and grow.
Qualifications
- Level 1: $23.28 -- $48,422 per hour.
- Level II: $25.98-40.56 per hour.
- Level III: $27.50-$42.94 per hour.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of extension taxes.
- Business or fiscal duties experience.
- Local government understanding.
- Effective communication skills.
