About the Role
The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking a Tax Analyst to join the Tax Analysis Division. This division maintains a continuous study of the practical operation of all taxation and revenue laws of the state, assessing revenue impacts, forecasting future results, and researching tax policy issues to support policy makers including the Governor and the General Assembly.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate the impact of proposed tax changes on state tax receipts.
- Analyze existing taxes for revenue impact and provide forecasts of future results.
- Conduct research on tax policy issues.
Requirements
- Completion of a graduate core program in economics, statistics, business administration, or public administration.
- 36 months of training or experience in the use of statistical software (e.g., SAS), query languages, and database analysis techniques.
- 36 months of training or experience in tax law and government structure and process (e.g., laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules pertaining to taxation).
- 36 months of training or experience in academic analytical research.
