About the role
The Tax Analyst will assist with preparation and filing of Canadian and US Excise and other transaction tax returns. They will participate in tax research, audits, and other department projects. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Englewood, CO, with potential travel within Canada and the US.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file U.S. and Canadian sales, excise, and other transaction tax returns
- Prepare tax working papers and reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Provide tax and audit support to Core-Mark’s warehouses in the US and Canada
- Prepare and submit tax payment requests
- Conduct tax research as required and prepare appropriate documentation
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with warehouse and corporate personnel
- Proactively seek opportunities for process improvement, data management, and other efficiencies
- Participate in Tax Department projects, as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting and/or tax experience
- Experience in managing tax-related projects and teams
- Knowledge of MS Office and accounting software
