Tax Analyst
Responsibilities
- Preparing corporate income tax workpapers, extension calculations, and quarterly income tax estimates.
- Assisting with year-end tax compliance activities and supporting various federal, state, and local tax filings.
- Preparing and filing sales and use tax returns, personal property tax returns, net profit tax returns, and other required tax filings.
- Researching federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Assisting with tax audits and responding to requests from governmental agencies.
- Reconciling tax-related accrual and balance sheet accounts.
- Identifying opportunities related to tax credits, exemptions, and process improvements.
- Communicating effectively with internal departments and external agencies regarding tax matters.
- Utilizing tools such as Microsoft Excel, Adobe, Workday, and Avalara to gather information, prepare filings, and support tax reporting activities.
Requirements
- A minimum of one (1) year of relevant tax experience; two or more years preferred.
- Experience preparing U.S. corporate income tax workpapers and returns.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- CPA certification is a plus but not required.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze, organize, and reconcile financial data.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong research skills and the ability to interpret tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- A team-oriented mindset, while also being comfortable working independently.
- Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
Qualifications
