Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Senior Manager to join our Tax Advisory Services group. In this role, you will lead the delivery of complex tax engagements for high-net-worth individuals and entrepreneurial businesses, ensuring technical accuracy, timeliness, and a personalized client experience. You will manage and mentor a team of professionals, contribute to strategic initiatives, and collaborate with leadership on client development, operational planning, and process improvement. This position requires strong tax expertise, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to excellence and firm values.

This role is ideally based in Wilmington, DE or Philadelphia, PA where the firm is building a strong, connected presence and successful candidates should be willing to be in-office 4 days per week. We are also open to flexible New York Metro-based candidates that are willing to be on-site in our Philadelphia or Wilmington office 1-2 days per week.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position supervises other Managers, Associate Managers, Senior Associates and Associates of the Tax Advisory Services team.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Support the strategic direction of the Tax Advisory Services team and lead its execution in collaboration with senior leadership
  • Serve as a key advisor to high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and family offices, delivering tailored tax planning, compliance, and advisory services
  • Manage daily client engagements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and exceptional service
  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning, while supporting the development of future leaders
  • Deliver comprehensive tax strategies that align with client objectives, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities for optimization
  • Monitor engagement performance, including realization, utilization, and profitability, and take proactive steps to improve efficiency and value delivery
  • Collaborate with Directors and firm leadership on billing, client onboarding, and engagement planning
  • Partner with Operations & Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning for your book of business
  • Supervise and coach Managers, Seniors, and Associates, providing regular feedback, technical guidance, and career development support
  • Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous development across the tax team
  • Develop high-potential talent and prepare them for future leadership roles
  • Ensure engagement compliance with firm policies, risk protocols, and quality standards
  • Use technology and analytics to streamline tax workflows, enhance insights, and boost efficiency

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA or EA designation
  • 8–12 years of progressive tax experience, including significant exposure to high-net-worth individuals, closely held businesses, and multi-entity structures
  • Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, with hands-on experience in S corporations, partnerships, and trust taxation
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships, lead teams, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly and concisely
  • Exhibits strong leadership and mentoring skills with a focus on team growth and collaboration
  • Willingness to work an average of 48–50 hours per week
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Must be commutable to either the Philadelphia, PA or Wilmington, DE office locations for events and meetings
  • Ability and willingness to work in a Siegfried office as required for an average of four days per week (or more) in accordance with Siegfried's then-current policy. (This requirement is subject to change at the discretion of management). If based outside of Philadelphia, PA or Wilmington, DE - successful candidates should be willing to be in-office 4 days per week including traveling to the Philadelphia or Wilmington office 1-2 days per week.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Taxation, JD or a related advanced credential
  • Prior experience at a Big 4 or leading regional accounting/advisory firm
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing S Corporation and trust tax returns
  • Familiarity with sales and use tax compliance and advisory matters
  • Demonstrated ability to develop tax positions and provide strategic guidance to clients on complex tax issues
  • Experience advising on business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and entity restructuring
  • Working knowledge of CCH Axcess and CCH Engagement platforms or similar tax compliance / workflow systems
