About the Role
As a Tax Advisor, you will support Merit's growth initiatives by (a) managing your existing client relationships, and (b) cultivating new relationships in our target markets.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end tax preparation process for a diverse client base (e.g., individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates).
- Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Proactively research and analyze complex tax issues to minimize client tax liabilities.
- Develop and implement long-term tax planning strategies and communicate technical recommendations clearly.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on the tax implications of major business and personal financial decisions.
- Provide client representation before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for audits, collections, and appeals matters.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a tax advisor or a related industry.
- Proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, and Flow automation.
- Experience with Salesforce integration using APIs, middleware, or managed packages.
- Salesforce Platform Developer I certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce security, data model design, and deployment best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
