Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close processes, including account reconciliations and financial statement preparation
• Research complex tax issues and stay current on changes in tax law and regulations
• Assist with tax planning strategies to minimize client tax liabilities and ensure compliance
• Manage bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance for a portfolio of clients
• Respond to notices from taxing authorities and assist with audits as needed
• Communicate directly with clients to gather financial information, answer questions, and provide guidance
• Collaborate with senior staff and partners on client engagements and special projects
• Maintain organized, accurate, and confidential client files and documentation
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance client service delivery

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in public accounting, tax preparation, or a related role
• Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., UltraTax, ProSystem fx, Lacerte, or similar) and accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero)
• Strong understanding of GAAP and current federal/state tax regulations
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with small to mid-sized businesses across multiple industries
• Familiarity with multi-state tax filings
• Prior experience in a public accounting firm environment

Pay

$80,000 - $120,000 per year
