The Bridges and Structures Practice at David Evans and Associates, Inc., is seeking a Task Lead/Bridge Engineer in Bellevue, Seattle, or Olympia, WA. Responsibilities
- Lead Transformative Projects
- Manage the full project lifecycle—from concept through final plans and construction support
- Ensure deliverables meet or exceed industry standards for quality, accuracy, and constructability
- Mentor and Inspire
- Review and check structural calculations, plans, and specifications to ensure engineering excellence
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, building the next generation of bridge design talent
- Lead or support condition inspections, load ratings, and structural evaluations of in-service bridges
- Collaborate and Deliver Results
- Cook up seamless project execution
- Build strong client relationships through technical leadership, responsiveness, and delivery excellence
- Support business development through proposal preparation, technical writing, and pursuit strategy
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Six to Ten (6-10) years of progressive experience in bridge engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington
- Experience with WSDOT bridge design standards
- Expertise in bridge design software: SAP2000, CSI Bridge, Mi Midas Civil, LARSA 4D, PGSuper, Conspan, LPile, BRASS
- Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD bridge design standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated leadership, clear communication, and client-facing skills
- Physical ability and willingness to conduct field inspections
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
- Structural Engineer (SE) license in Washington
- Familiarity with bridge inspection practices and load rating methodologies
