About the role

The Bridges and Structures Practice at David Evans and Associates, Inc., is seeking a Task Lead/Bridge Engineer in Bellevue, Seattle, or Olympia, WA. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned bridge engineer to lead complex infrastructure projects, mentor rising talent, and influence community connectivity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Transformative Projects
  • Manage the full project lifecycle—from concept through final plans and construction support
  • Ensure deliverables meet or exceed industry standards for quality, accuracy, and constructability
  • Mentor and Inspire
  • Review and check structural calculations, plans, and specifications to ensure engineering excellence
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, building the next generation of bridge design talent
  • Lead or support condition inspections, load ratings, and structural evaluations of in-service bridges
  • Collaborate and Deliver Results
  • Cook up seamless project execution
  • Build strong client relationships through technical leadership, responsiveness, and delivery excellence
  • Support business development through proposal preparation, technical writing, and pursuit strategy

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Six to Ten (6-10) years of progressive experience in bridge engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington
  • Experience with WSDOT bridge design standards
  • Expertise in bridge design software: SAP2000, CSI Bridge, Mi Midas Civil, LARSA 4D, PGSuper, Conspan, LPile, BRASS
  • Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD bridge design standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated leadership, clear communication, and client-facing skills
  • Physical ability and willingness to conduct field inspections

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
  • Structural Engineer (SE) license in Washington
  • Familiarity with bridge inspection practices and load rating methodologies
