Task Lead
About the role
The Task Lead (TL) is responsible for delivering operational excellence in support of sales drivers, providing the foundation for an exceptional experience for all Ulta Beauty guests. This includes keeping fixtures stocked, maintaining store cleanliness, completing assigned tasks, supporting omni-channel processes, and performing select manager-related functions such as Inventory Adjustments. The TL supports the Merchandise Manager (MM) and Operations Manager (OM) by focusing on performance metrics, team and guest engagement, and adherence to operational procedures.
Responsibilities
- Champion Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, demonstrating them consistently in daily duties.
- Performance:
- Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s retail goals by ensuring tasks are executed as planned and products are available for purchase.
- Meet compliance and execution goals related to the task dashboard, including timely completion of operational processes such as shipment, replenishment, merchandise sets, and inventory counts.
- Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
- People:
- Foster an inclusive environment for teammates, peers, and guests.
- Participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education, to drive professional development and sales performance.
- Assist in training new Task Associates and cross-training other associates.
- Engage and influence peers to achieve peak productivity and performance.
- Collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business.
- Process:
- Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
- Adhere to Ulta Beauty’s dress code.
- Complete merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, physical inventory procedures, and shipment processing using Ulta Beauty’s technology and best practices.
- Support the leadership team by completing select manager-related functions within the MIA device, such as Inventory Adjustments.
- Assist with omni-channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
- Maintain operational excellence by keeping assigned work areas replenished, signed, and faced, and ensuring testers are available.
- Maintain outstanding store standards and cleanliness, including sales floor, restrooms, cash wrap, backroom, and break area.
- Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices and providing exceptional guest service.
- Execute other operational tasks as directed.
Requirements
- High school diploma preferred.
- 2 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Proven ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve.
- Demonstrated knowledge and passion for operational excellence.
- Demonstrated experience in exceeding tasking goals and training new hires.
Skills
- Proficient with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale system and Apple devices).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
Special Position Requirements
- Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, overnights, and holidays.
Working Conditions
- Continuous mobility throughout the store during shift.
- Frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting during shift.
- Continuous and/or frequent lifting, carrying, and/or moving up to 25 lbs. during shift.
- Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $24.75 per hour. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Eligible associates may also earn overtime pay as required by applicable law.
