Target Security Specialist

About the role

Target Security Specialists play a crucial role in keeping guests and team members safe and secure. They are part of Assets Protection teams that mitigate risks, prevent and resolve theft and fraud, and build relationships with store leaders and public safety officials.

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by greeting guests, initiating interactions, and resolving issues.
• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner.
• Perform merchandise receipt checks and recognize and communicate trends.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support.
• Use Target's video surveillance system and maintain a physical security culture.
• Work independently and manage workload effectively.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capable of working in various conditions, including varying temperatures, humidity, and elements.
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.

Qualifications

• Must be able to climb up and down ladders.
• Must be capable of apprehending subjects in accordance with company policy.
• Must be able to lift and move merchandise up to 40 pounds without additional assistance.
• Must be willing to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

$18.00 USD per hour
