Target Security Specialist

About the role

Target Security Specialists play a crucial role in keeping guests and team members safe and secure. They are part of Assets Protection teams that prevent, mitigate, and resolve theft and fraud to ensure products are available for guests.

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by greeting guests, helping them find items, and ensuring a smooth shopping process.
• Support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner, using Target's video surveillance system.
• Perform merchandise receipt checks and recognize and communicate trends to prevent theft and shortage.
• Apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy and maintain a safe work environment.
• Work independently and manage workload, prioritizing tasks effectively.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
• Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays).
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
