Target Security Specialist

About the role

Target Security Specialists play a crucial role in keeping guests and team members safe and secure. They are part of Assets Protection teams that prevent, mitigate, and resolve theft and fraud to ensure products are available for guests.

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by greeting guests, initiating interactions, and resolving issues.
• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support.
• Perform merchandise receipt checks and recognize and communicate trends.
• Understand and appropriately use Target's video surveillance system.
• Work in a safe manner at all times, complying with safety policies and best practices.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• State or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

Qualifications

• Must be able to climb up and down ladders
• Must be capable of apprehending subjects in accordance with company policy
• Must be able to lift and move merchandise up to 40 pounds without additional assistance
• Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak shopping times
• Must be capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties
• Must be able to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift

• Crisis response, safety and crowd management
• De-escalation and experience with physical security controls and culture
• Using Target's video surveillance system
• Timely and accurate documentation of cases using case management systems

$18.00 USD per hour
