Target Security Specialist

About the role

Target Security Specialists play a crucial role in keeping guests and team members safe and secure. They are part of Assets Protection teams that protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing and resolving theft and fraud, and building relationships with store leaders and public safety officials.

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by greeting guests, helping them find items, and ensuring a smooth shopping experience.
• Support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner, using Target's video surveillance system.
• Perform merchandise receipt checks and recognize and communicate trends to prevent theft and shortage at the front of store.
• Apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy and maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Work in a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capable of working in varying temperatures and conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must be capable of remaining focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

• Using intelligence-led tactics to keep team members and guests safe.
• Crisis response, safety, and crowd management.
• De-escalation and physical security controls.
• Understanding and using Target's video surveillance system.
• Appropriate use of Target's policies and procedures.

$17.75 USD per hour

Schedule
