Target Security Specialist

About the role

Target Security Specialists play a crucial role in keeping guests and team members safe and secure. This role involves creating an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience, responding to and documenting security incidents, and preventing theft and shortage.

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by greeting guests, helping them find items, and ensuring a smooth shopping experience.
• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner.
• Prevent theft and shortage at the front of store by performing merchandise receipt checks and recognizing trends.
• Understand and use Target's video surveillance system.
• Work in a safe manner at all times, complying with safety policies and training.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

Qualifications

• Must be able to climb up and down ladders.
• Must be capable of apprehending subjects in accordance with company policy.
• Must be able to scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 40 pounds without additional assistance.
• Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak shopping times.
• Must be capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties.
• Must be able to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.

• Using intelligence-led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure.
• Crisis response, safety, and crowd management.
• De-escalation and experience with physical security controls and culture.
• Using Target's video surveillance system.
• Timely and accurate documentation of cases using case management systems.

$17.75 USD per hour
