About the role

Target Security Specialists play a crucial role in keeping guests and team members safe and secure. They are part of Assets Protection teams that mitigate shortage risks, prevent and resolve theft and fraud, and build relationships with store leaders and public safety officials.

Responsibilities

Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by greeting guests, helping them find items, and ensuring a smooth shopping experience.
Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner, using Target's video surveillance system and adhering to AP policies.
Perform merchandise receipt checks, recognize and communicate trends, and prevent theft and shortage at the front of store.
Use de-escalation tactics and resources when responding to security incidents.
Support team efforts and assist peers in other areas.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old
High school diploma or equivalent
Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members
Effective communication skills
Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
Work both independently and with a team

Qualifications

Must be able to climb up and down ladders
Must be capable of apprehending subjects in accordance with company policy
Must be able to scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 40 pounds without additional assistance
Must be able to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak shopping times
Must be able to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements
Must be able to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift

Skills

Using intelligence-led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure
Crisis response, safety and crowd management
De-escalation and physical security controls
Using Target's video surveillance system
Timely and accurate documentation of cases using case management systems

$18.00 USD per hour
