TAP Life Skills Coach

Administer interest inventories and related work assessments to students prior to job placement
Complete the job task analysis after work sites have been identified
Transport students to job shadows, job sites, and provide on-site job training
Transport students to Community Service visits as a part of their transition plan
Communicate with community partners to get feedback and solve any problems that may have arisen to ensure the student is successful in the position.
Maintain case notes and documentation of services provided in the IRSS system within the IVRS network
Utilize proficiency scales to observational and quantitative data related to Job Candidate's skills on various tasks
Keep accurate documentation on students' work experience performance
Initiate feedback from business partners/supervisors
Communicate regularly with TAP Transition team, IVRS staff, parents, Job Site supervisors and other stakeholders supporting Job Candidates
Aid students with personal care needs such as mobility, hygiene and special medical needs as related to job
Identify and communicate site safety procedures with the employer, student, and other staff as needed
Promote a positive image of individuals with disabilities to employers, coworkers and the community
Support students and adult clients with resume writing, mock job interviews

2 year degree required, preferably in Human Services, Social Work or Education
Must have valid Iowa Driver's License
A driving record satisfactory to the District and the District's insurance carrier
Experience working with youth ages 14-25
Enjoy working with students with disabilities
Ability to take direction from professional staff
Willingness to assume responsibility and take initiative both at businesses and within the schools
Good oral and written communication skills
Capable of effectively training and supervising students/adults ranging in age from 14-25 in off-campus job sites
Experience with Google software preferred
