Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting and finance functions for the Tampa site.
- Serve as the principal financial advisor to site leadership.
- Translate financial results into actionable business recommendations.
- Support strategic planning, growth initiatives, capital investments, and operational improvements.
- Drive a culture of financial accountability throughout the organization.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Maintain the general ledger, account reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, reserves, and intercompany transactions.
- Review and approve journal entries, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
- Manage external and internal audit relationships.
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
- Develop financial models and business cases to support operational and strategic decisions.
- Analyze variances against budget, forecast, and prior-year performance.
- Provide detailed financial analysis and recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Monitor key performance indicators and business trends.
- Oversee standard costing methodology and inventory valuation.
- Analyze labor, material, overhead, and manufacturing variances.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical inventory processes.
- Monitor cost drivers and identify opportunities for margin improvement.
- Partner with Operations to enhance productivity and cost performance.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial governance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws.
- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to financial processes and reporting accuracy.
- Manage site working capital, including accounts receivable, inventory, and accounts payable.
- Monitor cash flow performance and liquidity requirements.
- Evaluate capital expenditure requests and investment opportunities.
- Track return on investment for major projects and expenditures.
- Lead, develop, coach, and mentor accounting and finance personnel.
- Establish performance expectations and accountability standards.
- Build organizational capability through talent development and succession planning.
- Foster collaboration between finance and operational teams.
Qualifications, Background and Abilities
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience. At least 3-5 years of leadership experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior finance leadership role. Experience managing full P&L responsibility and Balance Sheet ownership. Manufacturing, pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, or regulated industry experience preferred. Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and financial reporting functions. ERP system experience required; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles. Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills. Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory management. Exceptional leadership and people management capabilities. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to influence business decisions through data-driven insights. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
