About the role
Working alongside the rest of the Mana Ake team, this role will be working in the schools, delivering innovative and effective programmes giving tamariki the tools and resources they need to thrive wherever they live, learn and play.
This is a permanent role, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm (40 hours), based at our Hastings office.
Responsibilities
- Deliver innovative and effective programmes in partnership with schools
- Support tamariki in managing their emotions and building positive relationships
- Work with over 56 primary and intermediate schools across Hastings and Central Hawkes Bay
- Ensure tamariki remain engaged, confident and achieving at school
Requirements
- Commitment to our organisational values and kaupapa
- An understanding of Te Reo and tikanga Māori
- A warm, engaging personality that tamariki relate too
- Experience presenting information and providing support to tamariki
- Empathy and understanding of trauma and its impact on behavior
- Knowledge of our Hawkes Bay community and local schools in Hastings and/or CHBA
- A Certificate in Health and/or Social Services is desirable or similar related experience
- A current New Zealand Full Driver’s Licence
