About the role
The Talent Strategy & Foresight Principal will own the design, evolution, and governance of the enterprise talent framework, establishing the strategic standards and decision models that shape FedEx's future workforce.
Responsibilities
- Own the design, evolution, and governance of the enterprise talent framework, establishing strategic standards and decision models
- Conduct analyses of current and future macro-organizational talent/capability gaps to identify targeted mitigation strategies
- Partner with Strategic Workforce Planning to translate organizational capability requirements into multi-year strategic talent roadmaps that align business goals with sustainable talent pipelines
- Drive the systemic integration of talent principles across the organization, partnering closely with Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and HRBP teams to align hiring, leadership development, and succession planning
- Act as a strategic partner to business and HR leaders, delivering internal talent insights and market intelligence to guide executive decision-making on enterprise talent
- Serve as a strategic advisor and input to core talent initiatives—including skills architecture, robust succession pipelines, performance strategy, and career pathing
- Monitor global talent trends to continuously evolve the enterprise talent strategy
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Enterprise-Wide Strategy Design and Execution: Experience scaling a talent strategy across a large, complex, and preferably matrixed organization
- Building from the Ground Up: Experience with the components of talent strategy
- Data-Driven Storytelling: Strong data literacy and experience using workforce data and analytics to identify critical talent gaps and influence executive leaders to invest in solutions
- Experience with AI applications in HR is a plus
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree/equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field
- Minimum Experience: 8 years’ experience in talent strategy, workforce planning, HR strategy, or a related discipline
- Experience working within a global or matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional service delivery models
- Familiarity with talent frameworks, methodologies, and approaches within a large, complex organization
- Core Knowledge & Abilities: Experience designing, executing, and scaling enterprise-wide talent strategy within large, complex organizations; deep understanding of strategic talent frameworks to optimize future-workforce readiness; familiarity with skills taxonomies, job architecture, and competency frameworks as inputs to talent strategy; proven experience collaborating across and aligning matrixed HR functions (e.g., Talent Acquisition, Learning & Organizational Development, HR Business Partners) to deliver integrated talent ecosystems; ability to synthesize business strategy and complex talent analytics into executive-level insights and strategic talent interventions; comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with a bias toward action
