About the role

The Talent Development Business Partner plays a key role in supporting Chubb Benefits and broader Chubb priorities by leading talent and learning initiatives that strengthen employee capability and growth. This role partners closely with managers, employees, HR, and other stakeholders across a matrixed organization to design, deliver, and improve learning solutions that support business needs. This position requires a strong mix of talent development expertise, learning design, program implementation, communication, and the ability to market learning initiatives effectively. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and comfortable working independently while managing multiple priorities.

Key focus areas

  • Support Chubb Benefits and broader Chubb priorities through talent and learning initiatives
  • Serve as a primary contact for multiple internal teams in a matrixed environment
  • Bring expertise in talent development, learning design, program implementation, communication, and learning initiative promotion
  • Use strong project management, time management, relationship management, and problem-solving/critical thinking skills
  • Apply intermediate to advanced Excel and Power BI skills, AI literacy, and the ability to interpret raw data for senior leadership
  • Be detail-oriented, strategic, curious, and able to quickly learn complex business processes and systems

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement talent development programs that build employee skills and capabilities
  • Create an engaging environment that supports employee growth and retention
  • Partner with stakeholders to design and deliver online and blended learning programs
  • Serve as content and program owner for learning initiatives
  • Develop content independently or with Instructional Design and external vendors
  • Partner with the LMS Administrator to build workshops and curricula
  • Schedule and deliver training, and coordinate delivery as needed
  • Update materials, gather SME feedback, and monitor usage and adoption
  • Recommend learning approaches based on research and feedback
  • Analyze learning effectiveness and share recommendations for improvement
  • Manage project timelines, dependencies, and risks in an agile environment
  • Build strong relationships across all levels and functions
  • Communicate clearly through writing, presentations, and solution-focused communication
  • Work under deadlines, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality results
  • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving/critical thinking skills
  • Quickly analyze information, develop curriculum outlines, and draft training content
  • Deliver virtual programs through platforms such as WebEx
  • Use Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and Power BI
  • Follow content approval processes, including SME and Legal review
  • Facilitate in-person programs as needed
  • Some travel may be required, up to 25%

Preferred education

  • BS/BA degree (or equivalent experience/certifications) in Human Resource Development, Instructional Design, Learning and Development, Training and Development or related field preferred
  • Talent Development/Management and/or program design experience: conduct needs analysis, create PowerPoint presentations for live and virtual training, using eLearning software, and writing job aids/user manuals
  • Leadership coaching (Hogan, Korn Ferry, etc.) or similar
  • Experience with self-assessments (not limited to Hogan, Korn Ferry, etc.) or similar
  • Experience with Employee Engagement Surveys and platforms (i.e., Medallia)

Preferred experience

  • MS degree in Learning and Organizational Change, Adult learning strategies, including online learning and rapid design principles
  • Demonstrated ability to design learning solutions for eLearning and live virtual instructor-led experiences
  • Project and vendor management
  • Working in B2B, Group and Broker insurance as a plus
  • Insurance, Sales, Operations, Call Center, Insurance Claims Departments or Leadership Development, a plus

Location & schedule

Primary location: Chicago, IL (near Rosemont, IL Triangle Plaza) or Columbia, SC, Chattanooga, TN, Portland, ME. In-Office Expectation: 4 days in office, 1 day remote.
