About the role
This position is responsible for the full recruiting life cycle, including intake sessions with hiring managers, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and recommending external and/or internal candidates. You will facilitate interview feedback sessions, execute talent marketing strategies, and help build a best-in-class Talent Acquisition function at La-Z-Boy. The role involves developing strong partnerships with hiring managers to outline recruiting strategies and ensure quality candidate presentations for all open positions while delivering an exceptional candidate experience aligned with the company’s employment brand.
Responsibilities
- Partner with hiring managers to develop targeted recruiting plans addressing staffing needs while ensuring a quality candidate experience and educating managers on legal compliance.
- Analyze and report on key trends, initiatives, competitive activities, and industry best practices to benchmark activities and measure progress.
- Identify candidates using internal and external databases/job boards, social media, networking, cold calling, and associations to supplement candidate pools and identify key talent.
- Act as the point of contact for recruiting agencies when needed.
- Develop sourcing strategies that support business needs and ensure high-quality candidate pools.
- Review applications for employment, comparing qualifications and salary requests to posted requirements.
- Maintain applicant tracking logs to ensure accurate and up-to-date information for compliance with state and federal employment laws.
- Conduct pre-screen calls and behavioral-based interviews using targeted selection interview guides to identify qualified candidates aligned with La-Z-Boy’s leadership model and values.
- Coordinate travel arrangements when necessary.
- Ensure proper training of users and full utilization of software to support the employee life-cycle process from requisition to onboarding.
- Execute talent marketing and proactive recruitment strategies using data and analytics.
- Assist with on-campus and university recruiting initiatives for internship programs and deliver top talent to key pipelines.
- Maintain community relationships and company image by participating in job fairs and school career days.
- Partner with hiring and HR business partners to develop competitive offers of employment.
- Create and present offer packages to selected candidates.
- Maintain relationships with state career services, complying with all regulations while partnering to administer state grant reimbursement programs.
- Provide regular updates to hiring managers, HR business partners, Talent Acquisition leaders, and other stakeholders on pipeline development and candidate progress.
- Develop and maintain relationships with hiring managers and HR business partners.
- Own the candidate experience, designing and managing processes to ensure a high-quality experience aligned with the employee value proposition and employment brand.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Human Resource Management, or at least 2-4 years of related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Full-cycle recruitment experience.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Suite applications such as Word and Excel.
- Ability to obtain knowledge of Lawson systems and Kronos programs.
- Familiarity with current employment law related to recruiting and staffing.
- Up to 10% travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Applicant Management System experience (Workday, Oracle, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, Jobvite, etc.).

- Operates in a professional office environment, not substantially exposed to adverse conditions.
- Nearly continuously required to sit, use repetitive hand motion (such as typing), hear/listen, talk, and stand.
- Often required to walk and bend; seldom required to lift up to 30 pounds.
