Talent Acquisition Specialist
Position Overview
As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will manage the full recruitment lifecycle with a primary focus on sourcing, hiring, and onboarding top talent for Headquarters (HQ), while providing dedicated field recruitment support across our Retail, Contact Center, and Fulfillment Center operations. In addition to driving end-to-end recruitment and onboarding, you will serve as a subject matter expert on recruiting compliance—ensuring full adherence to federal, state, and local labor standards, background screening processes, and employment regulations across all business units.

At Duluth Trading Company, we value face-to-face interactions that foster our culture of learning, creativity, and teamwork. The role is based at our headquarters near Madison, WI. You will work in the office Monday through Thursday, with the option to work from home on Fridays if you prefer.
Responsibilities
- HQ Recruitment: Lead end-to-end recruitment for headquarters roles, driving proactive sourcing, behavioral interviewing, candidate evaluation, and offer management in partnership with corporate leadership.
- HQ Onboarding Experience: Own and facilitate the onboarding lifecycle for HQ hires, including leading interactive new-hire orientation sessions and partnering with managers to ensure a seamless welcoming experience.
- Recruitment Compliance & Governance: Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations across all hiring practices. Oversee mandatory candidate screenings, I-9 verifications, offer letter standards, and audit readiness to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Field Recruitment Support: Provide hands-on recruitment support for field operations across Retail stores, Contact Centers, and Fulfillment Centers, tailoring sourcing and outreach strategies to local labor markets.
- Seasonal & High-Volume Hiring: Assist in planning and executing high-volume seasonal hiring initiatives while ensuring compliant, fast-paced screening processes for seasonal staff.
- Hiring Manager Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to HQ and field leadership, providing candidate pipelines, interview training, and guidance on compliant hiring practices.
- Pipeline Building: Coordinate career fairs and recruitment events to establish strong talent pipelines for corporate and operational needs.
- Process Enhancement: Continuously evaluate and refine recruitment and onboarding workflows to optimize candidate experience, drive efficiency, and maintain regulatory standards.
- Employer Branding & Social Presence: Monitor, track, and engage with candidate and employee reviews across Glassdoor, Indeed, and social platforms building an authentic online presence while utilizing feedback to refine hiring practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field (equivalent work experience considered).
- Experience: 5+ years of full lifecycle recruitment experience, with a focus on corporate/HQ roles and multi-site field support (Retail, Contact Center, or Fulfillment/Distribution environments).
- Sourcing & Pipeline Expertise: Proven track record of proactive candidate sourcing and pipeline creation using advanced research techniques, Boolean logic, LinkedIn Recruiter, CRM tools, and passive candidate outreach.
- Compliance Expertise: In-depth working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and recruiting regulations (EEOC, FLSA, I-9/E-Verify, background check requirements, and fair chance hiring laws).
- High-Volume Staffing & Flexibility: Prior experience supporting high-volume or seasonal recruitment campaigns. Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including occasional weekend coverage, during heavy seasonal hiring peaks.
- Facilitation Skills: Comfortable leading HQ new-hire orientation sessions and delivering recruiting and compliance training to hiring managers.
- Systems & Tools: Proficient with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and standard workplace productivity suites (Microsoft Office / Google Workspace).
- Travel: Ability to travel as needed for hiring events or field site visits.
- Work Authorization: Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Pay
Compensation Range: $70,000 - $85,000/year. This position is eligible to participate in the company bonus program. Compensation listed is for the full-time position at this specific location and is based on several factors, including experience, and qualifications.
