Talent Acquisition Onboarding Specialist
About the role
A Talent Acquisition Onboarding Specialist at Mission Federal Credit Union, based in San Diego, CA, is responsible for creating a seamless onboarding experience for new Team Members. The role involves coordinating and managing onboarding activities, serving as a primary point of contact, ensuring compliance, and implementing process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage end-to-end onboarding activities for new hires, including pre-boarding, compliance requirements, orientation preparation, and first-day readiness.
- Provide guidance and support to candidates and new Team Members throughout the onboarding process.
- Initiate, monitor, and ensure completion of background screenings, employment documentation, I-9 verification, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition, hiring managers, IT, Payroll, and other internal teams to ensure onboarding timelines, training schedules, and system access needs are met.
- Maintain accurate onboarding records and updates within Dayforce while tracking onboarding progress and supporting reporting and analysis of onboarding metrics.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance onboarding efficiency, compliance, and the overall new hire experience while supporting culture-building initiatives and orientation programs.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of administrative experience required; experience in HR, onboarding, talent acquisition, or employee experience strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a passion for delivering an outstanding candidate and new hire experience.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with HRIS, ATS, onboarding platforms, and Dayforce HCM preferred.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.

Pay
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour* Actual compensation within this range will be determined by factors including experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and other job-related considerations permitted by law.
