About the role
Our Talent Acquisition team serves as the gatekeepers to our organization by working with school leaders to manage the full-cycle hiring process from application to hire for all roles within their school. We are looking for an enthusiastic teammate with an unwavering commitment to the Democracy Prep mission of college success and authentic civic engagement for our scholars.
Responsibilities
- Work in concert with school leaders to assess short and long-term talent needs and game plan on how to efficiently fill those needs.
- Adapt and execute our application and selection process to meet the needs of each individual school, resulting in a thorough interview process that instills confidence in our hiring managers in their hiring decisions.
- Use organization systems to track candidates and ensure timely follow-up in each step of the hiring process.
- Manage a high volume of resumes and phone screens to find mission-fit and skilled applicants for our scholars, with a specific focus on school-based operational screening and teacher screening for the middle and high school levels.
- Enact a best-in-class candidate experience from the time of first contact until they exit the talent acquisition and interview process, ensuring all candidates feel supported and excited about Democracy Prep.
- Coordinate candidate interviews for your portfolio of schools and for centralized hiring.
- Develop and execute a cold outreach strategy for vacancies within your portfolio of schools.
- Collaborate with the full Talent Acquisition team to identify needs and develop creative solutions to fill all openings.
- Support outreach initiatives, including consulting on content for ads, newsletters, and recruiting posts.
- Track hiring against school staffing budgets and partner with school leaders to ensure they have the oversight and support needed to hire within their allocated budget.
- Support people team and organization-wide strategic initiatives, including the creation of communication templates, implementation of larger people team systems, and participation in Central Office events and professional development.
Requirements
- Prior urban teaching experience.
- Working knowledge of the high-performing charter school space.
- Organized, data-driven self-starter who can handle competing priorities.
- Strong communicator who builds relationships quickly and adapts communication style according to audience.

Pay
Salary range is $85,000 - $105,000.
