Tactical Data Link Analyst (Military Operations Analyst 3)

About the role

Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a TADIL Analyst to join the Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) team at the Naval Aviation Warfare Development Center (NAWDC) Joint Control Facility (JCF).

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots tactical datalinks and infrastructure on the Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN).
• Supports the operation and maintenance of Link-16 and associated systems across different classification levels.
• Maintains and repairs PC workstations and laptop computers.
• Monitors data communication networks and resolves data communications problems.
• Enters diagnostic commands into computers to determine the nature of problems and records system malfunctions.
• Updates documentation to record new equipment installs, new site locations, and changes to computer configurations.
• Attends staff meetings to report on resolutions to recurring system problems.
• Assists users with systems problems and reviews procedures users follow to determine if specified steps were taken.
• Works closely with staff and Government to set and maintain server and workstation configurations.
• Creates and maintains user accounts in accordance with standard guidelines.
• Protects the integrity and security of the systems directory structure.
• Establishes and maintains vendor relationships to purchase related products.
• Creates and delivers customer training programs for end users and management.
• Applies technical guidance to lower-level technicians.
• Performs intermediate and depot-level maintenance on Tactical Data Links (TDL).
• Operates and documents maintenance actions in IEMS.
• Assists Government with CMS duties as required.
• Assists Computer Systems Analyst II with network upgrades and security patches.
• Cross-trains and qualifies to operate at least two additional TCTS systems (e.g., Communication, Video Distribution, Display systems).

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 3 years with a Master's degree, or 0 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field, or High School Diploma with 9 years relevant experience.
• Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy “C” School or vocational school in Tactical Data Link (TDL) and/or networking.
• Completion of USJFCOM JT-101 Link 16 Joint Interoperability Course, USJFCOM JT-102 Multi-TDL Advanced Joint Interoperability Course (MAJIC), and USJFCOM JT-201 Multi-TDL Network Planner within nine months of hire.
• Valid state Driver’s License.
• Secret clearance and ability to maintain.
• U.S. Citizenship.

Qualifications

• Installation and maintenance of computer systems.

• Communications equipment and TCP/IP.
• Database configuration and management.
• Microsoft and UNIX/LINUX networking administration.
• Multi-Tactical Data Link’s (TDL).
• DOD network security training.
• Technical Report writing experience.

Skills

• Knowledge of Multi-Tactical Data Link’s (TDL).
• Experience with Tactical Data Link (TDL) Systems operation.
• Ability to create and deliver customer training programs.
• Technical guidance to lower-level technicians.
• Intermediate and depot-level maintenance on Tactical Data Links (TDL).
• Experience with AN/URC-107 Joint Tactical Information Distribution System (JTIDS) / AN/URC – 1868 Multi-Functional Information Distribution System (MIDS).
• Experience with MIL-STD 6040 message writing training.

Pay

$75,045.00 - $100,000.00
