About the role
Deal assigned casino table games while maintaining game integrity, protecting the house, and delivering excellent guest service.
Responsibilities
- Deal assigned games and control pace of play.
- Adhere to game protection and Grand Sierra Resort & Casino dealing procedures.
- Handle all bets, recover players’ losses, and pay winners with casino gaming chips.
- Deal cards and/or gaming chips to guests around the table; collect bets and cards during or at the end of each hand.
- Protect the assigned game while providing great guest service.
- Interact with team members and guests in a professional and polite manner.
- Monitor and maintain the integrity of the game.
- Perform mathematical operations quickly and accurately while the game is in progress.
- Follow all game controls and procedures outlined in the dealer and supervisor department manual.
- Ensure the table games pit and assigned games meet the highest level of cleanliness.
- Perform any other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year previous dealing experience, dealing school, or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
- Must pass a dealing audition.
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English for guest and team communication.
- Interpret and follow instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Attend and participate in meetings regarding new rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Complex reading, math, task completion, and basic writing skills.
- Coordination, following instructions, and memorization skills.
- Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends as business needs dictate.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Maintain a valid Gaming License and Alcohol Awareness card.
Skills
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, supervisors, and guests.
- Accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
Physical demands
- Constantly stand and bend over during the shift; occasionally sit, walk, or crouch.
- Constantly push/pull up to 10 lbs.
- Constant repetitive use of both feet and both hands; frequent dominant and constant non-dominant firm/strong grasping motions.
- Constant finger dexterity of both hands.
- Constant use of vision abilities including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.
Work environment
- Consistently indoors, frequently around others, with face-to-face and verbal contact.
- Loud noise level.
- May be exposed to odor and/or secondhand smoke.
