T1 Manufacturing Quality & Reliability (MQR) Engineer
Position Summary
T1 Manufacturing Quality & Reliability (MQR) Engineer plays a critical role in various qualification processes for new Samsung Taylor FAB and in ensuring that new technologies/products being introduced meet all quality and reliability requirements prior to starting volume mass production. This position bridges internal teams across technology development, process integration, process/EQP engineering, sales, customer, and manufacturing technology during transition from new FAB/technology/product qualification phase to volume production phase in a highly complex semiconductor industry environment to deliver products on time to our customers that exceed their quality requirements. After successful qualification, T1 MQR Engineer will continue to support different quality management activities to secure and maintain expected mass production quality.
Role And Responsibilities
- Lead various qualification processes to qualify T1 FAB for mass production by conducting rigorous risk analysis and ensuring 100% adherence to global quality standards
- Drive seamless transition from new FAB qualification phase to mass production phase by validating process stability and delivering Fab qualification reports that certify production readiness
- Establish product/tool qualification framework and chair review board meetings to provide technical direction and final decision-making on qualification status
- Communicate with HQ reference FAB to monitor and work to eliminate any known quality risk points by implementing various solutions
- Plan and lead early production risk mitigation activities designed to ensure safe launch of new products
- Contribute to identifying potential quality risk points by using FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) methodology and implementing solutions to reduce risk
- Drive root cause corrective actions (RCCA/8D) for issues identified during FAB qualification phase to secure mass production quality standards
Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Mathematics or related field required
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor processes device physics, and failure analysis techniques
- Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies: SPC, FMEA, DOE, 8D problem-solving, and statistical analysis
- Understanding of industry standards and customer requirements in semiconductors (e.g., automotive, consumer, data center)
- Working knowledge of process integration, yield and/or various fab processes (i.e., thin films deposition, lithography, etch, diffusion etc.)
Pay
The current base salary range for this role is between $76,000 - $145,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience.
