Systems Test Engineer
About the role
The Systems Test Engineer supports the release of new and updated medical devices through all validation and verification (V&V) activities necessary. They utilize standard development procedures and project management skills to assess and test the requirements of electromechanical medical devices at the part, sub-system, and system level. The role involves investigating test issues and assisting V&V technicians to ensure customer needs are met, including coordination of validation activities.
Responsibilities
- Support the release of new and updated medical devices through all V&V activities necessary.
- Utilize standard development procedures and project management skills to assess and test the requirements of electromechanical medical devices at the part, sub-system, and system level, investigate test issues, and assist V&V technicians.
- Ensure customer needs are met, to include coordination of Validation activities, to ensure higher confidence, reliability, and satisfaction in products released to market.
- Maintain a level of technical competence through training, literature, technical contacts, and industry competition.
Requirements
Acquired minimal experience in V&V of ventilators, sleep therapy devices, oxygen concentrators, personal wellness devices, and associated accessories. Solid understanding of engineering disciplines, developing V&V test plans, test procedures, requirements trace matrices, test reports, validating test methods (TMV), and a working knowledge of global medical device regulations, requirements, and standards. A B.S. in Engineering/Science discipline or a related field is required, with an MS degree being nice to have.

- Must be able to successfully perform the following minimum physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
- An excellent communicator, strong ability to adapt conventional techniques to solve complex problems, demonstrated use of skills to overcome technical challenges, can plan and manage assignments of significant technical scope through group and individual effort.
Skills
A solid understanding of engineering disciplines, developing V&V test plans, test procedures, requirements trace matrices, test reports, validating test methods (TMV), and a working knowledge of global medical device regulations, requirements, and standards.

Pay
The pay range for this position in New Kensington, PA is $73,500 to $117,600. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
