About the role
The Systems Technical Specialist supports the technical needs of attraction-related infrastructure, servers, virtual machines, endpoints, applications, and connected operational systems. This role involves maintaining high availability, standardization, security, and recoverability across production systems that directly impact guest-facing operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support for attraction-related infrastructure, servers, virtual machines, endpoints, applications, and connected operational systems.
- Administer and support Windows and/or Linux-based systems in production environments with a focus on uptime, resiliency, and operational readiness.
- Use Chef or similar configuration management tools to automate provisioning, configuration enforcement, patching, software deployment, and baseline compliance.
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot automation scripts using tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Support and improve CI/CD workflows for infrastructure and application deployments, including build, test, release, and rollback processes where applicable.
- Partner with software engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operations teams to deploy and maintain reliable systems for attraction environments.
- Maintain system configuration, version control, deployment artifacts, and environment consistency across development, test, and production platforms.
- Troubleshoot issues spanning infrastructure, application services, storage, network connectivity, authentication, and device/system integrations.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams, support procedures, automation workflows, and operational runbooks.
- Participate in change management, release validation, maintenance activities, and on-call support rotations as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience in systems support, systems administration, site reliability, infrastructure operations, or a similar technical support role in a production environment.
- Hands-on experience with Chef for configuration management, deployment automation, or infrastructure standardization.
- Experience writing and maintaining scripts using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
- Experience supporting or contributing to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Strong understanding of Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
- Familiarity with source control systems such as Git and standard versioning practices.
- Experience troubleshooting infrastructure and application issues across servers, services, logs, and network dependencies.
- Understanding of core infrastructure concepts such as virtualization, storage, system monitoring, backups, patching, and access management.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, TLS/SSL, firewalls, and port/connectivity troubleshooting.
- Ability to analyze logs, isolate issues, and resolve incidents in complex, integrated environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across technical and operational teams.
